ROOFING - Repair and Replacement

On October 19, 2009, all residents were notified by mail that the responsibility for maintaining and replacing roofs would become that of the Owner effective November 1, 2009. must complete an Architectural Review Board Application and submit to Leland for approval when planning to repair or replace a roof. The city of Indian Harbour Beach will no longer allow permits to be pulled unless there is an approved ARB application. Owners are responsible for checking references, obtaining bids, selecting the contractor, and paying for the work.

Any roofer may be used if he meets certain requirements:
--- currently licensed and insured
--- agrees to adhere to the policies and procedures of the Association
--- has read the Parkside Place Roofing Specifications book, and agrees to abide by it

The change in roofing responsibility allowed a very substantial reduction of Association fees, and an end to skyrocketing roofing repair costs. It represents many many hours of dedicated and cooperative work by the LRPC/Roofing Committee (Neil Normando, Darrell Faulkner, Ann Parchinski), the 2009 Board of Directors (SusanRoe, Margie Solliday, Neil Harmeson, Ed Farnsworth, Wally Berger, Jim Weemhoff), and the work of many others in earlier years who did the preliminary research and record keeping.
